Liberals are patriots, right wingers are nationalists

I love the principles my country was founded on. The french philosopohers, the founding fathers, Lincoln. There are some absolutely gorgeous things to say about our country.

However, the only reason I think that our country is so great is our melting pot of cultures.

So I think that liberals fit the definition of patriots and RWers are nationalists, anyone care to discuss?

Too many people confuse patriotism with nationalism. Basically, patriotism involves doing the hard legwork to make the country a better place. Nationalism just involves lip service, and often goes into the "my country right or wrong" without the understanding that when wrong, the patriot tries to make it right.

5. Take it one step further

Real conservatives aren't neo-cons. Real conservatives don't believe in nation building and using the government to achieve their goals.

Neo-cons are just fascists and believe in using the government to further their agenda.

The problem is that conservatives will roll over for the neo-cons when the neo-cons play the nationalist card. That's what happen in Nazi Germany and that's what is happening in America.

6. moving forward is a liberal thing. staying in place or going backward

is conservative. I appreciate France too. The intellectuals of our past, the learning and dignity. Now we have a monkey and his grinder.
I'm glad the founders are dead so they don't have to watch this.
