I don't get into the tinfoil hat thing. I don't believe for a second that "most" do. I embrace income and therefore respect governmental responsibilities with my contributions. I abhor argument for the sake of argument but I do dig new angles on old subjects. I love my fellow man, the rather common man, the folks that pay the bills and get on with their lives. I also love politics. The mysteries and mechanics of living legislation intrigues me almost to titillation.
I'm a bluesman. I play for tips, a piece of the door, the generosities of ordinary folks. My "play" is not play at all. My "play" is "sho nuff WORK". And expensive. I have roughly $25,000 in equipment. My vehicle wasn't free and the gas to and from ain't donated either. I give my time cheaply, but it's just nuts for my audience (those that listen earnestly and are somehow effected by my jamm) or my venue managers (club owners, stage directors, film producers, etc.) to expect me or anyone else to entertain them for like ZERO from them. As an ordinary Democrat I don't think that should be hard to comprehend.
I pay taxes. Everything I buy is taxed and every dollar that I earn is equally examined and in my opinion appropriately levied for the sake of our society. This is not to say that I don't find waste, fraud or abuse in governmental programs but that I understand my responsibilities and I don't have problems with a fair share thing. Can you dig it?
I always enjoy even the promise of a reduction in my monetary contributions to the prices of things. That is not a Democrat or Republican thing. It's a people thing, a natural desire to earn what you have and keep what you earn for your own personal benefit including all that society demands and needs of you. Can you dig that as well? Don't take the question as facetious.
I've posted many times about the advantage of the repuke claims to effectively "cut your taxes" and how they fail and even reverse any benefit of their proposals. Promises of tax cuts is like trading whiskey for votes. Both work and work very well.
I also posted once about the negligence on the part of the Democrats to embrace "tax cuts" and how many votes were being lost on that sole issue. To put it lightly, I was almost laughed out of DU for that so absurd observation. That's the day I realized that I was just an ordinary Democrat.
