Dolly Parton and Melissa Etheridge on the same stage singing each others songs. It was called CMT Crossroads.



It was AMAZING. There must be a recording somewhere.

Melissa did "Jolene" and Dolly did "I Wanna Be Loved". It was an absolute show stopper!

There were segments where they discussed each others works and Dolly was quite clear in her support for Melissa.

To figure out nth cousins and mth-removed, go backwards and find the first common ancestor to both.

The difference in the number of steps to the common ancestor from each person is the "number removed" (implying different generations).

The smaller number minus 1 is the degree of cousins.

e.g., your paternal grandfather is another cousin's great grandfather, making him the last direct ancestor to both of you.

Number of generational steps from you to grandfather= 2
Number of generational steps from cousin to your grandfather (her great grandfather)= 3

n= 2-1 = 1 -> 1st cousins
m= 3-2 = 1 -> once removed
