Do they have to walk 10k to vote? |
|
Earlier Jane Arraf was reporting from a polling place in Baquba. She said no poll workers had showed up (it was over an hour after the scheduled opening time) and she also noted that it was a polling place for people who lived 10 kilometers away - it was too unsafe to vote in their neighborhood.
Cars are curfewed until tomorrow - so am I to understand that these people, whose neighborhood is too unsafe to vote in, are expected to WALK 10 kilometers there and back to cast a vote?

no time for people to be educated, and they are voting for parties that they know nothing about who will just end up electing Alawi Prime Minister anyway. It doesn't really matter how many people vote.

You're exposing yourself to the insurgents for an awfully long time...
This is just the biggest farce.
