So you think there is not going to be a Draft? Read Will Pitt's latest
http://www.truthout.org/docs_2005/013105W.shtml
excerpt:
"Brush aside the patriotic language, and you have the ideological architects of this disastrous Iraq invasion stating flatly that
the American military is being bled dry, and that the ranks must be replenished before that military can be used to push into
Iran, Syria and the other targeted nations. The 'D' word is not in this letter, but it screams out from between the lines. All the lip
service paid to the Iraq elections by these people does not contrast well with their cry for more warm bodies to feed into the
meat grinder."

And now, thanks to Rangel, the Dems will
be blamed for the PNAC demand.
How do these people sleep at night?

2. I've thought there was going to be a draft for some time.
Edited on Mon Jan-31-05 10:00 PM by Zensea
I have very mixed feelings about it since I was a conscientious objector.

I think that each generation needs to make a stand & I wonder if it will take a draft to make the current generation do so.

Remember the "me generation" or period in American culture began when the draft ended.

4. Dems aren't exactly opposing these ongoing wars, now are they?
They want the same thing. Let's get the military to shame Bush and the pundits into sacrificing their own kids for their glorious goal. After all, the military needs the help.
