what became of him? How is it that a Texas State Trooper can pull over a Canadian citizen in their own country?

Since the Canadian guy was a cop, did he arrest the Texas guy? He should have.

What is the deal with this story?

apparently the Texas trooper was there as part of an exchange program to stop drug trafficking. The cop did sue and they settled out of court

VANCOUVER – A Vancouver man has won an out-of-court settlement from the RCMP after an incident in which he says he was illegally searched.

David Laing says police overstepped the law when they stopped his car, decided he was driving under the influence of marijuana, and searched his vehicle and two-year-old son.

Under Canadian law, that kind of search is illegal.

What upset the Laing even more is that some the officers he tangled with were actually American police officers.

5. I'm glad to hear this

The last thing Canada should be trying to do is parrot Texas drug enforcement tactics. Texas has effectively squashed the rights of the citizens in regards to profiling. Canadians are far too sane to let them get away with it there. I personally hope this left a bad taste in their mouths that they don't soon forget.

3. Why didn't he just kick his ass

I would've asked for a badge and when he flashed a Texas badge I would've placed him under arrest for impersonating an officer.
