ANYTHING.
This has probably been dealt with here before, but not to my recollection.
I am dismayed to see the Dems in congress immediately concede that Shrub's 87 billion request for Iraq will be approved, because there "really is no alternative."
BULLSHIT.
The alternative, as anyone with a mid to low-level job knows, is that the employee (Shrub) is held accountable for his job performance (record deficits, wars based on lies, etc.), and is canned (impeachment).
The alternative is that Congress says this war was based on bullshit, and now that that bullshit has been revealed, we are going to pull back and correct this situation.
You see, in America, if you fuck up really, really hugely, then it's OK...you will not lose your job, you will not be held accountable, you will likely be rewarded. But if you're a janitor and you knock over a mop bucket one too many times, you will be fired after severe humiliation.
So Shrub can kill thousands of Iraqis and hundreds of Americans for reasons other than those stated, he can snub the U.N., he can misplan the bogus war, and he can then demand that we pay for his mistakes and lies, and nothing will happen to him. Like his corporate warlord buddies, he will never make the perpwalk.
Meanwhile, today some kid in Brooklyn will be hauled into jail for shoplifting a couple of pairs of jeans. There will be attendant outrage and shaking of heads at the state of our youth.
Meanwhile, the unelected, fraudulent, most corrupt and stupid pResident ever, sprawls like an Emperor Elephant, naked and pink and disgusting in the middle of our American living room...and nothing will be done.
I think America has always operated like this...I'm a slow learner, and at the age of 46, am finally waking up.
I want to go back to sleep.
