It has got to be down to Dean, Kerry, or Gephardt. But maybe Kucinich or Edwards could run as vp. Clark could get in there if he decides to run.

1. I see it as down to 2:
Dean or Kerry.

Both of them would need a Southerner for VP, IMO.

I believe Edwards, Graham or someone we just aren't thinking of but that Kerry and Dean are!

3. Not trying to start a flame war
But I do not think Kucinich will be on the ticket. I think he is seen as too far left for a national ticket.

Just my thoughts.

14. That Hello bit was bad
I like the guy and I thought it was so wrong. I hate it when I hear 14 year olds do it. To hear someone running for president do it is a really annoying.

16. I don't think Kucinich would even consider a VP spot.
He's on a mission to spread a message. He wouldn't take a job where he is required to nod, smile and be a yes man for the top of the ticket.

5. Three is right, unless
Dean for sure, maybe Kerry, unfortunately Gephardt is a very strong possibility because he's been around (running) for so long and has lots of labor support. But everything could change if Clark or Hillary or someone else jumps in. I don't believe any of the candidates will accept VP, with the possible exception of Edwards. The VP will come from out of nowhere. I don't think Clark would consider it, but a Dean/Clark ticket would do very well.

6. I agree. When will they announce their VPs?
I can't remember how far ahead of the election that happens.

I hope they wait until the convention like in the old days
it would add some excitement to the proceedings.

15. I don't think Lieberman wants VP
I really do not think he would accept the VP slot again, even if Gore ran.

8. I think everyone should take a breath
and relax a bit. This is far and away too early to be talking about who it is "down to". It may be fun spinning senerios and consulting the ol' ouiji board, but trying to say it is all over but the selection of running mates is jumping the gun just a bit. Let's at least have a couple of primaries or a caucus or two first.

21. I agree, anything can happen
And I am really pleased because I think some of the candidates haven't been given a fair hearing yet anyway. Gephardt and Edwards in particular. I look forward to the next few months.

10. Dean has a simple choice for VP
Washington insider or foriegn affairs.

Insders are a plenty But he needs someone who Congress will respect
I think he will likely go outside the also rans unless he picks Graham. I like Clark, but He is not an insider. Watch out for John Spratt or John Breaux maybe Evan Bayh.

Foriegn Affairs ya gotta believe Graham is on the short list here but I still think Bill Richardson is a slamdunk choice.

Hail Mary's are Mary Landieu (unknown but a woman) Patty Murray (the ultimate Soccer mom) and Diane Feinstein (who despite being from SF has solid credentials.

18. Oh, please no!
Who the hell is John Spratt? John Breaux and Evan Bayh give me the creeps!

I want a woman for VP or P, but not in 2004. This one is just too important to try that one, I'm telling you!

Yes, unfortunately Graham; Bill Richardson would be an interesting choice; but among the people you are mentioning, I would hope the VP is from somewhere of which we have no knowledge at this point...

11. But if Clark jumps in...
I think that completely shuffles the deck.

One think his entry COULD do is engender more interest in the Democratic race. The media seem to love him, and don't have much interest in the other candidates, so his entry could get more news coverage than is currently being generated.

Clark can wait for a while yet before announcing, but he runs the risk of seeming too coy if he waits a LOT longer. It's something of a balancing act, and he has to do this right.

20. From what I've seen,
I think at this point HC still believes Bush will win and she expects to take over in 2008. This could, of course, change...

I'm just sayin' ...
