2. Yes, this actually surprised me.
Outright cash??? I mean, I thought "media whore" was a metaphor!!

I really did think they were whoring for the BFEE because they wanted to get in good with them. But it's all about money. Wow.

6. I'm surprised that more haven't been exposed
I suspect that there are literally hundreds of journalists and hacks on the white house teat.

7. The only surprising thing
Was how little it cost to drop these whores to their knees.

8. I was surprised
I thought, the WH certainly likes the push the MSM to move it's agenda forward though granting access to powerful people in the adminstration.

Poor Helen Thomas, treated like a mentally ill crazy aunt.

I never expected to outright pay them our tax dollars.

10. The amount that Williams got paid was stunning, and I'm surprised that it
was a check written directly from the US gov't to Williams.

However, I'm not surprised in the least that the primary reason RW commentators have the opinions they do is because they think they will be financially rewarded for having them.

(I thought they got things like Regenery publishing deals, talk shows, honorariums for speeches, and raises (as Tim Russert got from Jack Welch) in exchange for helping out the Republicans with their messages.)
