CA Poll coming down to a simpler choice
Latest Poll Results show that on question 1

Pro-recall is at 55% that is down marginally from 58% Results suggest the anti-Davis may have already peaked 40% are anti-recall

On Question 2: Bustamante is at 30% Arnold is plateauing at 25% and McClintock is at 13%.

I personally think Cruz's nuber is soft. Where else are the anti-recall votes going to cast the second vote.

Seemd to me that the Choice really come down to Davis vs. Cruz for most of the faithful. I will vote against the recall...but unless Davis gets to 55% (more than he got against Simon in the election), he is going to have a hard time governing effectively.

What is going to be interesting to see is if the Latinos vote for the recall in hopes of seeing the ascendency of Cruz. That may be where the recall is won or lost.

1. No on Recall, Yes on Bustamante
Then, because so many counties didn't have time to prepare correctly, ACLU sues again, it goes to 9th Circuit Court of Appeals and the whole election is thrown out.

Thankyew.

2. nothing but a do-over
If Davis wins will the ACLU still file suit?

by your logic they should.

5. Why ? ....
They should ONLY if Davis is NOT recalled ? ....

The lawsuit is based on the equal protection clause; presuming that certain poorer counties cannot change from older and antiquated forms of balloting, while other, richer counties will use modern balloting equipment ....

WHY would "NO on recall, YES on Bustamante" logic affect the merit of such a lawsuit ? ....

9. It wouldn't - that is just how I intend to vote.
However, CA does have many counties, (poorer ones of course), who simply have not been able to pull this together and so I just see a reasonable outcome to be that, no matter how the election comes out, when the ACLU will be able to show the unfairness inherent in the relatively short time given to pull this together, the 9th Circuit (the most liberal in the country) will toss out the entire election due to proof then there will be real evidence of lack of time for ALL of CA to be ready to get it together.

3. you nailed it

"What is going to be interesting to see is if the Latinos vote for the recall in hopes of seeing the ascendency of Cruz. That may be where the recall is won or lost."

I have had the same thought.

6. I think Davis now needs to hammer hard on the uncertainty
and GET THE WORD out that the budget problems are soundly BEHIND us albeit with some pain and FOCUS ON GROWTH.

I think he can close 5 points with a GOTV effort.

7. The problem I see
But are those against the recall going to head to the polls and cast a vote? I'm afraid that most of the voters who are motivated to show up will be pro-recall.
It's important that people see this as a right-wing coup attempt and not just a freak-show.

8. my belief is this
and my belief has not changed from Day #1 of this idiocy. Gray Davis will retain his job as he should. What a waste of taxpayer's money! Who the hell else has the qualifications to do this job but the person doing it might I ask? Answer: NO ONE!!!!
