Bad dreams lately
both the wife and I. Of destruction and being chased by soldeiers on our soil. Non-descript. Could be our own, could be a foreign power. I hope I'm not psychic

1. I had the same dreams about a month ago...
Edited on Tue Feb-01-05 11:26 AM by TwoSparkles
...I was running/hiding from "soldiers" in a neighborhood from my childhood hometown.

In my dream, I knew the "soldiers" were "terrorists". It felt like foreign soldiers in my dream.

After 9/11--I read about Al Queda training, which included plans for attacking small and mid-sized cities; taking out power grids, disabling local law enforcement.

I've sporadically had the dream since reading that article.

PS--I hope you're not psychic, too.

4. creepy
now that I think about it most of mine happen in my childhood hometown too. A little village right outside the fort drum military base. Used to have dreams of hiding in the church basement too waiting for the bombs to drop. The nuclear ones were mostly back in the Reagan cold war heyday though. these others are more recent.

a reoccuring dream in which I saw dozens of fighter planes on attack over the skies of San Francisco. That's happened a couple of times to me since since 9/11. Big time stress dreams. :(

3. About half a year ago I had a dream that some corporate banking
F16s were strafing the ground around me with bullets.

Last night I dreamed that the Patriots lost the Superbowl 40 to 3.

FWIW

8. It's all the trauma we have been witnessing:
9-11, the Afghanistan war, the Iraqi war, seeing photos of mutilated children, hearing from our homeland security department that an attack is "very likely" AND having such an oppressive, lying administration has made me feel vulnerable.

I've have a few nighmares about soldier type officials chasing my family and me down.

I very RARELY have nightmares but I've had several of these "police state" type dreams in the past months.

For me, it's about being fearful of our own government and thinking about what people in Iraq are going through. It's kind of like, will the Bush Co do to us, what they are doing to the people of Iraq? AND, it's so difficult to process that OUR country that I LOVE and SUPPORT is committing such an attrocity in Iraq. It's very sad.

That's my interpretation of my dreams of course, I'm not implying this is true for others.

9. had scary dream last week
I dreamt that my wife and I were on vacation in somewhere like New Orleans and we witnessed a gigantic explosion way off in the distance.

First I saw 3 flashes in the sky and then out on the horizon I could see a cloud or many clouds surge upward and outward. After several seconds a large dome like cloud started billowing up under the other clouds.

We obviously started running in the opposite direction and when I looked back at one point I could see a wall of light gaining speed and growing in height as it flew toward us. Once reached us we were blown over and all the trees around us were uprooted. And general chaos ensued.

I believe I was watching a nuclear bomb explode but tried to deny it to myself. The more I think about it the more it scares me.

Not sure if this is a culmination of spending too much time on DU lately and thinking about our coming war with Iran or what. But to be fair I had a sick fascination with nuclear war when I was a teenager. My mother (an unfortunate bi-polar, severely paranoid schizophrenic) planted lots of doom and gloom ideas in my head as a kid. She attended Hal Lindsey's church in California for many years back in the 80's and filled my head with thoughts of apocalyptic nuclear holocaust. Damn her!

(Read about Hal here: http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/pages/frontline/shows/apocalypse/explanation/doomindustry.html)

I don't let her ramble on to me anymore about this stuff. And I don't believe in rapture and all that crap.

Oh well dreams are just dreams, right?

10. I can't come up with the right English words right now...
...but somebody on DU some weeks ago feared that the government is using those millisecond-spots on TV to brainwash people. He said that his mother who used to be a Democrat is watching a lot of TV lately and has since turned into an ardent Bush supporter, and after HE watched TV some time he suddenly had the idea "Bush is a nice guy really, he's only trying to protect us."

I find it strange that so many of you have those dreams, and I'm an expert on nightmares unfortunately.

11. I hope your conclusion is wrong NE
Limiting my TV intake since the election has been a priority for me. Although I still like watching a DVD and playing some GTA:SA now and then.

If this "brainwashed" person is watching FauxNuts, I am not surprised. Otherwise, we should all do ourselves a favor and unplug our cable! (Can't unplug the TV-I need my PS2!)

What do you mean you are an expert on nightmares? Have you experienced an inordinate number of them? (If it's gonna open some wounds or it's something you'd rather not share, that's cool.)

12. There is a piece of equipment which can see film clip by clip
Russian researchers once found out that MTV was using that type of advertising you just described.

One can only wonder what one would discover if they used it on Fox News or the 700 Club.

17. I think this is worth investigating.
If true, it would explain why there are so many that appear to have drank way too much kool aid and are brainwashed. I wouldn't put it past * and his buddies.

These days, I don't even watch any news on t.v. It's just too gawd damn bogus. And I've never even watched faux news. I go it one further too: every time I see * or Clinton and * sr hawking the tsunami aid ads, I change the channel. LOL!

20. I unfortunately could not find out much information
Edited on Tue Feb-01-05 09:51 PM by ck4829
I did however read about a pro-Bush commercial which had the word 'Bureaucrats' and it cut off the word to say 'RATS'.

This was a big deal to some people.

21. Hm... I really think there's a possibility that they're doing this and
somebody should check it up. Without some special equipment it would be very time consuming though... *sigh* If I were American - and had a TV set etc. - I'd certainly give it a try. That would discredit them in the eyes of the whole world.

13. I had a dream about a plane crashing
I had one dream, a plane would crash into the ground or something, the strange thing is this. I would walk around in my dream, and then return to see the plane crash again.

Another strange thing is that the movements of the plane looked jerky, almost as though it was being controlled by something outside it.

18. I think it's pretty strange so many are having these thoughts & nightmares
I remember a lot of my dreams and have never had very many nightmares, but lately I have had several of these. I'm sure that the war images and the fear warnings coming out from our *government* have something to do with it, but it's very interesting to consider the subliminal ads scenerio.

My mother in law watches faux news and has been saying the strangest things. She never was xenophobic or racist until recently she began on a tirade about Muslims. She's also bought into this whole idea that WE are the ones under attack and that's essentially why we are mass murdering people in Iraq.

I have no doubts that Faux news is a vehicle to indoctrinate people with Bush propaganda and I wouldn't put it past them to use subliminal ads. If they were busted using these type of *ads* they WOULD be shut down!

19. I wonder...maybe like animals and natural disasters
we are foreseeing LIHOP/MIHOP #2 the Busheviks have planned for us with the help of Bin Forgotten, that lifetime Bush pal and stooge.

Regardless, I think LIHOP #2 is coming because they can't have their draft without it.

And they cannnot initiate Phase Two of the Transformation from a Democratic-Republic without another Psychic Shock.

Oh my yes, the Busheviks require another "terrorist" attack.

And what the Busheviks want, the Busheviks get.
