Have they consciously decided that those voters don't exist and have factored them OUT completely?

The fools don't realize that most of the Bush supporters they bend over to cater to are getting most of their news from any one of the 10 religious programs, or Rush, Hannity, and FOX. They mostly ignore network news.

Corporate news networks now exist to keep the rest of the population as underinformed as the zombies who voted for Bush.

1. They could care less.
Big business is big business, and Republicans are interested in the kinds of deregulations that their parent companies are after.

2. That's because those 59 million will keep watching
no matter how much shit is piled on them. The sad truth is, we on the left don't ever fight back in a coordinated way.

The right has been pummeling the media en masse for forty years. They attack relentlessly. We do nothing but occassionally moan as individuals.

Stop watching MSM. I have. You'll feel a whole lot better.

4. I haven't watched 15 minutes of downstream media news since
election day. If anything interesting happens, it'll be in LBN, and probably reference a better source. Much better for my mental health that way.

8. Same here.
Besides, I can think for myself & have no desire to support the corporate media by listening to its propaganda.

9. Nice cartoon. Where's it from?
Any time I see anyone in any media tell the truth about anything, it shocks me.

5. They are not "fools." They know exactly what they are doing, &
have succeeded in seizing control of all power in this country. You or I should only be such "fools."

Your point here holds no water, IMO. A "corp. news network" like ABC is not particularly disturbed if many potential viewers watch FOX or religious broadcasts instead. This is because they are all working in tandem towards common goals. The execs at ABC know perfectly well that FOX viewers (for example) are being properly brainwashed to accept the whole corporate agenda of tax breaks, subsidies, merger approval, etc. The viewers that FOX indoctrinates become willing zombies, whose opinions & voting patterns redound to the benefit of ABC, NBC, CBS, and all transnational corps in the future. In effect, they are all partners.

From their point of view, why in the world SHOULD they care about the 56 million who voted Dem? They are managing perfectly well even by insulting or ignoring those viewers. For the corporate media, the Democrats ("liberals") have served simply as a punching bag, nothing more. This strategy has been brilliantly successful, & is not going to be abandoned just to make Democrats feel better.

6. I do agree with your post. I was hitting at it from both angles.

I would say those in the actual news part of the networks are the fools for playing along with an ideology that holds them in ill regard.

There are many news people who actually believe they are delivering news and numbers legitimately.

It's their corporate masters who keep them contained.

11. good question
I watched a few minutes of MSNBC last night after the speech, only because I like Ron Reagan and I was interested in his take (I didn't watch the speech itself - who cares what he says? It's all lies).

Anyway, it was Reagan and (outnumbered as usual) three right-wingers. They showed a 10-second clip of Harry Reid without any context, and after it was done the right-wingers all burst out in loud derisive laughter. Talk about psyops: the Democrats are so ridiculous that whenever we hear a single sentence from one we just bust up laughing. Pat Buchanan was actually *angry* that Democrats launch 'partisan attacks' after the SOTU (Scarborough actually corrected him and reminded him that Republicans did the same thing after Clinton SOTUs).

I flipped it off. But on occasion we need to watched to understand the tactics that are being employed against us.
