5. Walter's cool
At the time of "memogate" I suggested that CBS bring him back as the 6PM news anchor.

He is a supporter of mediachannel.org - see http://www.mediachannel.org/originals/cronkite.shtml & http://www.mediachannel.org/video/cronkite.promo.56k-260.ram

7. Got that same mailing today too.
I'll discuss it with my wife, but I think I may join up, it looks like a decent org that might have a chance at making a difference.

8. That's what I though too!
Just wanted to know if anyone else had gotten one and see what others thought.

I think this could really be a viable option for us progressives. We are always talking that we have values too, what better way to show and organize.

9. I joined up -- these are my kind of religious people!
The first three articles on their website were:

1) "Send the Gonzales Confirmation Back to Committee" (where they want to force Gonzales to answer the questions they say he evaded)

2) "Interfaith Alliance supports SpongeBob, Tolerance"

3) "Will He Speak as Preacher or President?" (where they politely
suggest Bush stop using God for political ends)

They also have links where you can send pre-formatted letters to your elected officials on various issues (I signed the one on Gonzales)

I joined because the more people in groups like this, the more clout they will have.

Bonus Point: Walter Cronkite was the one urging people to consider joining. I like Walter -- news business has gone downhill since he retired.

Thanks for posting that!

11. I got a letter from Walter around last November.
I donated to the Interfaith Alliance as a result. I plan to contribute more, but I have not heard back from them

What America needs is an authentic religious voice to reveal those bush charlatans for what they really are ...... FRAUDS

12. I got one too
I'm agnostic but I thought it sounded like a very good organization. My husband took their list of quotes from the 700 Club and other religious nutjobs to work to show the other soldiers how sick some of these people are. They especially were sickened by the one about how Christians should "conquer" this country. (I wish I still had that paper to put the exact quote and person in my post, sorry)

13. though I'm agnostic, I became a member about a year ago. We need
more tolerance for all faiths -- and this is an important thing we need today, seems to me.
