guy arrested for breaking into his own house!!
Man burgles his own home?

http://www.unknownnews.net/050205d.html

by Joe Stapleford, Feb. 1, 2005

Hello, my name is Joe S., I was arrested in my own home for residential burglary on June 15 of 2003.

The officer Bill Westland of Roscoe police, would not take the time to verify the license plates on my car, they are registered to the address I was accused of robbing. Or look at the mail on the kitchen table, my name, and address was on the mail. I was told, the courts can sort this out.

This is after I had talked to the Roscoe police on June 4, and June 8, the police talked to me at the address I was charged with robbing, and Caryn's dad had told them on June 6th, that I lived there. Caryn is my girlfriend, she was in the hospital at the time. I spent two and half weeks in jail, on a fifty-thousand dollar bond, for being in my own home.

Finally, the state agreed I did live there, and the charge was dropped. They could not even say they were sorry, or admit they made a mistake.

Just had to get that off my chest, hopefully someone will listen. The case number, in case you wish to check up on my story is-03cf1673.

Thanks for telling what happened. We're too "small potatoes" to give you justice, but we'll print your letter tomorrow, for whatever that's worth in spreading the truth. :)

I've deleted your last name as a matter of habit and policy, but if you wanted it included just let me know and I'll restore it.
=H&HH=

Thank you, I don't mind my last name being printed. Sad that cops like this carry guns. I had to go to school to be an electrician, with a GED you can be a cop ...

1. Before I get too worked up over such atrocities,
I generally Google them first. Here is the ONLY other 'hit' from the phrase: "The officer Bill Westland of Roscoe police, would not take the time to verify the license plates on my car, they are": http://mediafilter.org/guest/Pages/May.21.2000.21.29.36

That doesn't necessarily disprove it, but it adds a few question marks in my mind. Just to be sure I Snoped it under "police". No luck in that predictably depressing lot. But I DID find one that cheered me up immensely (although it too was an Urban Legend): http://www.snopes.com/glurge/laguardia.asp

4. I'd tend to believe the story about LaGuardia is true...
...that sounds just like The Little Flower.

(aside: I just watched the Ric Burns documentary, New York, and episode 5 deals with both LaGuardia and Robert Moses. Moses was the public works baron for the city and state of NY who amassed such power within the two entities that he became unanswerable to anyone - including LaGuardia himself. However, his legacy is the parkway system of NY and LI, without which NYC would've become impassable via auto. Fascinating man...)

2. Geez.... what's the penalty for burgling away a 5 trillion dollar surplus,
burgling the treasury, burgling social security, burgling a sovereign nation, and just plain burgling...

3. Yeah, he didn't do it in his own home.
That is the People's White House. He is just a temporary tenet. The good guys are working on the case.

6. sounds like he may have been living with his girlfriend
and the place was in her name. even if there is mail thee in his name he could have been kicked out from a break up, etc. If police could not immediately confirm the guy's story, of course the police are going to arrest and charge the guy. More to this story than the teller is stating I bet.
