Ask the WH Press Corps to Report on the Imposter in Their Midst!
Edited on Wed Feb-02-05 08:33 AM by Stephanie

There's a fake reporter at the White House. Why won't the most elite journalists in the world cover the story?

David Brock wrote to Scott McClellan yesterday asking that the fake journalist Jeff Gannon of "Talon News" be excised from the White House press corps:

http://mediamatters.org/items/200501310004

I find it amazing that the press corps themselves have not covered this story. Surely they've noticed that an amateur with an agenda is sitting amongst them, in the most coveted spot for journalists except for network anchor. WHY are they covering up (by omission) the story that the WH has a special propagandist planting questions not only in the daily briefs but also in the rare Bush press conference? By ignoring the issue they are complicit.

In light of the recent outtings of several "journalists" who were in fact paid propagandists for the administration, this Jeff Gannon story is both timely and relevant. Why is no one covering it?

The names of the WH press corps members are below. I think we should write and ask them why they are letting this slide. Why won't they cover the story? Why do they participate in Potemkin press conferences?

13. I've seen Terry Moran stand up to him in press conferences
I think there are a few others, but I don't usually get to watch so I can't name them.

in the front row the other day.

I don't know whether or not they let her ask questions anymore though.

11. Yes she did
She couldn't take the moonies - she quit. I see her byline sometimes in the NY Daily News, and I think she has a syndicated column.

3. Might as well ask why they don't report Bush is an idiot.
Jeff Gannon is more of a sham than most of the press corp but really, do you have to ask?

7. I wonder this, too
I was listening to that horrible press conference the other day, and even *I* looked up (and I avoid looking at the television whenever Bunnyboy is on) when Gannon asked his ridiculously partisan question. It was so off-the-wall and completely unprofessional that I wondered who in the hell it was - and if I knew there was something very, very wrong you KNOW these so-called professional journalists have known all along.

9. And since they know, and let it slide, they are complicit
The press conferences are a sham and every press corps member's reputation is tarnished. How can they ignore the story right under their noses?

Do you think that Bush would be where he is today if the media was almost completly under control?

14. Buck Up
So what? We don't need the government deciding who can and cannot serve as journalists. There will always be journalists running the gamut of political ideology. What's next, do we revoke the press credentials of those we suspect of being Communists? I thought we moved past McCarthyism. Instead of bitching, we should take note. Why don't we start our own DU Daily Press and then have one of our own apply for press credentials?

16. This is the point - he's a member of the "NEW MEDIA"
http://www.theconservativevoice.com/modules/news/article.php?storyid=2505

"Last week, at a presidential news conference, a new media reporter had the audacity to present a question many of us had, for years, been hoping that some reporter would ask...."

Dont'cha just LOVE how they just come up with these terms???

He's a "NEW MEDIA" reporter!!! New Media must mean - SHILL!

BTW: here's a follow up focusing on the Rush Limbaugh connection:
