I don't really understand how the Iraqi election changes anything.
So the insurgents will just say "oohh they had an election. I quit?"
Can someone please enlighten me as to how this is going to bring democracy to Iraq. and if they get democracy can we have some, too?

6. It's about getting the flag wavers excited. Works every time on these
idiots. His polling was bad, thus an election, which Bush opposed in the beginning.
Believe me, the LAST thing Bush wants anywhere is a democracy. Democracy is 'bad fer bidness'.

8. It's just like when * declared "Mission Accomplished"
And at that point, we won the war on terrorism(tm), right? Or when * said he would balance the budget and then ordered new presidential helicopters for $6 BILLION. Or when Herr Rumsfeld said the torturers were "a few bad apples". Or, etc., etc., etc..

9. Exactly, NOTHING changed
The resistance is the same.
The US is still fully in control.
It is still working tentatively to negotiate a government with Iraqi leaders that will without a doubt retain US control over Iraqi affairs.
