Justice Clarence Thomas to attend Bohemia Grove Club ... WTF is this?
Last week, the LA Times reported Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas has accepted tens of thousands of dollars worth of gifts since joining the high court, eight times the amount of any other Justice. One gift which received passing mention was private jet to the Bohemian Grove club. The jet was paid for by Harlan Crow, the wealthy Texas real estate investor who bankrolled the Swift Boat Veterans for Truth and also ran an advocacy group that filed briefs with the Supreme Court. But just what is the Bohemian Grove club?

Dubbed “the greatest men’s party on earth” by President Herbert Hoover, the Bohemian Grove club is the most exclusive summer camp in the world. (Sorry, ladies, you’re not invited - the camp is strictly men’s only.) Members meet to “rough it” every summer for the last weeks of July. Situated seventy miles north of San Francisco on the Rusian River, the campground takes up 2,700 acres of redwood forest. And there are extensive precautions to make sure regular Americans can’t get anywhere near it: sentries “scan the outside areas with binoculars” and “infra-red sensors protect the perimeters.”

The club has approximately 2,500 members, with a combined wealth of roughly $100 billion. Every Republican president since Coolidge has been a member, as well as a few on the other side of the aisle as well. Members include directors of Fortune 1000 companies, corporate CEOs, top government officials and business elites. The waiting list is 3,000 men strong and the average number of years spent on that list is anywhere from 15 to 20.

2. and MSM does no find this amusing?
same link:

The list of former and current Grove campers is long and varied. Former guests include Henry Kissinger, Hearst, George Schultz, James Baker, Richard Nixon, the George Bushes, Newt Gingrich, members of the Bechtel family. In 2000, George Bush asked Cheney to be his running mate at the Bohemian Grove.

So, what do you do at the exclusive Grove? The men produce skits, musical acts, listen to speakers, eat drink and socialize. The last night of camp, the men put on an elaborate play with a cast of hundreds. Members stay in cabins with names like “Toyland,” “Dog House,” “Cave Mans” and “Sons of Toil.” (Last year, George H.W. Bush and Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld stayed in “Hill Billies.") But make no mistake, this is definitely a rich man’s playground, with private chefs, servants and waiters. And according to the New Statesmen, the no-girls-allowed policy means peeing on trees is all the rage.

8. Oh how I miss Spy Magazine!
I am looking for this article but it's not turning up. It was truly astounding when I first read it. Maybe it exists on the web somewhere but I can't find it. If anyone has Lexis/Nexis you might get it. It's a fantastic article by a reporter who went undercover at Bohemian Grove.

17. Well, that's subject to interpretation.
Some see a Satanic subtext to the ceremonies and secrecy, and claim there have ritual murders at BG. Others, that it's just a playground in which the elite old boys can get drunk, unwind (homoerotically even, in some cases), and network without prying eyes and ears.

Even the most modest interpretation isn't very encouraging.

10. They put on skits and plays?
That is just too bizarre. I had a flash of the party in the movie "JFK" where the men were dressed up in strange erotic costumes.

This is the first time I've ever heard of this place. Just when I think we've reached the pinacle of weirdness, I learn more. :eyes:

12. Question about access
I know that California law gives the public access to all beaches up to the (high?) water mark. Are there similar laws that would not restrict navigation on the Russian River?

Masked man enters, attacks Bohemian Grove
'Phantom' expected armed resistance
- Peter Fimrite, Chronicle Staff Writer
Thursday, January 24, 2002

A bumbling, hooded commando calling himself the "Phantom Patriot" invaded the fabled grounds of the Bohemian Grove during the weekend hoping for a shootout. What he got was a good night's sleep in a cot reserved for one of the club's captains of industry and a date with a prison psychologist.

Richard McCaslin, 37, of Carson City, Nev., pleaded not guilty in Sonoma County Superior Court yesterday to five felony counts including arson, burglary and brandishing a weapon at a peace officer after he allegedly sneaked into the exclusive Russian River encampment carrying an arsenal of weapons. He told The Chronicle during a jailhouse interview that he went to the Monte Rio retreat Saturday night intent on exposing child abuse and human sacrifice and punishing the perpetrators. "I was expecting armed resistance and I would have fired back if I was fired upon," he said.

The bizarre episode is the latest brouhaha involving San Francisco's Bohemian Club, which for years has provided fodder for conspiracy theorists and been attacked by women's groups. Club representatives insist that the nonprofit organization -- founded in 1872 by five newspapermen, a Shakespearean actor, a vintner and a local merchant --is dedicated to the simple enjoyment of music, literature and drama.

A visitor to infowars.com sent us a very rare copy of the Annals of the Bohemian Club (vol 7), 1987-1996. It is the Bohemian Club Quasquicentennial, celebrating the 125th anniversary of the founding. It is an internal Club publication, and only around 200 were issued to elite members. The photos you will see below document the elite membership from George w. Bush and his Father, George H. W. Bush, Richard Nixon, Jimmy Carter, Helmut Schmidt and other Illuminaries. You will also see new, exclusive images from the occult Cremation of Care ceremony.
