Advisors Dan Bartlett, left, and Mike Gerson work with President George W. Bush Tuesday, Feb. 1, 2005, in the Oval Office fine-tuning his State of the Union address scheduled to be delivered Wednesday night.

Bush: I know this one is Iraq, now, Which one is Amurika?

Bush: Why can't I get Condi to read this stuff to me anymore? I really like it when she reads to me."

Bush: D-e-f-c-i-t . . . is that how you spell prosperity?"

President George W. Bush, pen in hand, makes last-minute adjustments to his State of the Union speech Tuesday, Feb. 1, 2005, in anticipation of Wednesday night's scheduled appearance to the nation.

Bush: Here's the part where we cut the hell out of the money for those beggars and deadbeats. Crank up that Kid Rock!

"Pimp of the Nation, I could be it
As a matter of a fact, I foresee it
But only pimpin' hoes with the big tush
While you be left pimpin' Barbara Bush!"

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - President Bush (news - web sites) will call for a near-freeze in the overall growth of government spending not connected to national defense to try to rein in record deficits, a senior administration official said on Tuesday.

Having pushed through sweeping tax cuts (for the rich) in Bush's first term as president, "it's now time also to focus on the priority of fiscal discipline," the official added. (leaving the majority of struggling Americans out in the cold)

WASHINGTON - Giving Social Security (news - web sites) a makeover will be the signature topic of President Bush (news - web sites)'s State of the Union address on Capitol Hill, where Democrats already have denounced his plan to let younger workers open private retirement accounts.

WASHINGTON (AFP)On Iraq, the US leader was to urge even critics of the war to help Iraqis build democratic institutions, while rejecting calls to set a specific timetable for pulling the roughly 150,000 US troops out of Iraq, aides said.

"We're not talking about an exit strategy. We're talking about a strategy for success in Iraq," senior Bush adviser Dan Bartlett told NBC television.

A recurring theme of many items on Bush's second-term domestic agenda is that if enacted, they would weaken political and financial pillars that have propped up Democrats for years, political strategists from both parties say.

Legislation putting caps on civil damage awards, for instance, would choke income to trial lawyers, among the most generous contributors to the Democratic Party.

2. Yeah, I'll be watching The Game Show Network
Think old "Who Wants to be a Millionaire" re-re-reruns are on at the same time. Far more interesting and intellectually challenging than watching the Chimp-in-Chief spew his lies.

7. Yes! In fact, several martinis!
Or in my case...several glasses of Merlot. In fact, I've started already and it's only 4 p.m. here!

As I like to say...God help us all.
