Was violence in Iraq on election day under-reported?
This was a report on a local man killed in Iraq.

Another soldier from the Ozarks dies in Iraq

snip

URBANA, Mo.-- Sgt. Lindsey James of Urbana was killed in Iraq on Saturday. His parents, Larry and Margaret James, say the news feels like a bad dream but they are getting by thanks to support from the community and just knowing that their son was a tremendous person.

This was James' second tour in Iraq. The Army says the 23-year-old soldier died when a bomb exploded while he was guarding a polling place in Baghdad. He was supposed to be coming home in a few months. His parents say he loved fishing and going to the shooting range. They also said James could have done anything with his life but chose to join the Army...

...Besides his parents, a wife and six brothers and sisters survive James. He was married less than two months ago."

I remember hearing about a "few" suicide bombers on election day, but I don't recall them mentioning the deaths of US soldiers in those attacks.

Which makes me wonder if there was more violence than was fed to us through our "media."
