Might corporations like Microsoft be in charge of public schools one day?

Do you think we might ever reach the point where the government can no longer finance public education, and instead, huge corporations like Microsoft or Enron manage and run the schools?

I don't see it happenng on Long Island. People are proud of thier schools and pay a ton of property tax to support them.

I think it'll happen whether or not the government can pay for public education. It's already happening; from corporate sponsership of school books to the suspension of a student for a pepsi t-shirt on school coke day, it seems that the stage is set for corporate control of public education.
