Senator Byrd, "Congress is not an ATM"
Senator Byrd is speaking now on CSPAN 1120 EDT. (or CSPAN radio)

Although he wants to do everything we can to protect our troops, he is against the unquestioned funding of the Iraqi war.

1. I was going to post a thread about this
Edited on Tue Sep-09-03 11:25 AM by CatWoman
cause I'm watching it, and Byrd is so eloquent and earnest.

However, there already is a thread going about this hearing.

2. The Congress of the Old Republic wasn't an ATM
The Amerikan Imperial Senate, in which Sen. Byrd stands out for his "old ways" in the Imperial Sheep Pens, is EXACTLY THAT.

An ATM for the Imperial Family...their friends allies and cronies.

Any who stand in the way...and are young enough that they might rally the Democrats...whups there's another plane crash!

And if the Imperial Senators need to be kept in line...

Whups there's another anthrax letter from we know not where!

10. yeah my old Dad too!
God rest his soul. He's been gone awhile now - a WWII U.S. Marine Corps vet. He used to say, 'Do I look like the Horn of Plenty OR WHAT!?' LOL! Thanks for the memory! :D

5. This coming from the King of Pork
I'd suggest he take his car out of the Robert Byrd garage and drive down the Robert Byrd Highway and ask his friends at the Robert Byrd Senior Center what they think about it.

Not an ATM -- from the King of Pork. Now that's a good one.

6. A Slogan for Dems:
"Take away the President's credit card!"
If he wants $87 billion (and counting) in new spending, he should INCREASE REVENUES by $87 billion.
He's become very good at fund raising, so let HIM raise the money!

8. Rather have Pork at home
Then to pay for junior's get-even war for is poppy.

Less jobs for average Americans + big tax cuts to fat cat donors + paying a fortune to Halliburton =
America going busted!
