We need a cable left wing news station ASAP
I would be more than willing to donate my hard earned middle class money and time to make something like this a reality. PLEASE someone, I beg of you. We need a fox type station that caters to the left. About half of the U.S. would tune in, i'm sure of it.

Will this ever happen?.

2. You would think...
... honestly... you would think, with the ratings Air America Radio has gotten over the past year, that getting a true left-of-center news network would be inevitable.

3. Democracy Now! with Amy Goodman - just get it on a major network
Amy Goodman is already producing the CONTENT for a very progressive news show. Problem is it airs on community access and obscure satellite stations.

If we could get Democracy Now! on a major network, even a 'second tier' network like TBS or UPN, that would be a HUGE advance for progressive media reform. Even if we could get Amy Goodman booked as a guest pundit on CNN and MSNBC that would be fantastic.

4. She was on MSNBC last night
Tweety's show, I think.
Can't remember. Know it wasn't Olbermann.

5. She has been getting some exposure lately, which is a VERY GOOD sign
It was utterly UNTHINKABLE that someone like Amy Goodman would be allowed to be behind the camera of a major network for a long time.

Even in the late 1960's, before Bush II, Bush I, or Reagan, people on the far left were conspicuously COMPLETELY excluded from air time on major networks.

Think about Noam Chomsky. He's been writing brilliant analysis and speaking and touring the world relentlessly since the 1960s. Yet many people have NEVER EVEN HEARD OF HIM.

People with views like that are not rebutted or refuted or censored, they are COMPLETELY IGNORED, as if they didn't even exist.

6. Dish / comcast?
I am just so sick and tiered of these right wing talking head talk shows saying that this is a liberal cable media. As a whole, this is totally a pro Bush administration cable media.

I usually only watch MSNBC but even they don't come close to reporting whats really needed to be known. My only hope is when Chris Matthews would have Ron Reagan as a guest pundit or in the morning they would have someone like KGO's Bernie Ward on in there short 2 min segments.

Dish network or Comcast on demand should pick something like this up. Its an untapped market that would make them $$$. Air America on the radio is a great start, but we need cable.
