. . . because the questions are loaded and not relevant to me. They all have "more optimistic" and "less optimistic" answers and no other way to respond. To respond on those terms, I would have to admit that there ever has been a time when I was "optimistic" to a lesser or greater degree about any of the things the questions ask about. But for the past four years I have NEVER been "optimistic" or anything other than depressed and abysmally pessimistic. That's why these are all biased "how often do you beat your wife?" kinds of questions. Maybe I should swallow my pride and bite my tongue and hold my nose and go ahead and vote "less optimistic" on all of them, because that's the closest thing to a truthful answer for me, but I just can't bring myself to do it. Because I can't acknowledge that I ever have been "optimistic" in any way about this administration. Because I never have.
