Need help with Boxer claims about % of soldiers from California

Having a debate with a couple of rabid Freeper types about Boxer's "treatment" (their word) of Weezy Rice at her confirmation hearings.

I didn't get to hear the entire exchange, so I'm working from a bit of a disadvantage.

They claim that Boxer was "lying" (again, their word) when she said that "25% of the soldiers killed in Iraq are from California."

(1) What did Boxer really say?
(2) Can I get a cite for the figures she referred to?
