The BFEE and the military-complex are not as vast and all-encompassing as they may seem.

It's partly a matter of generations. A lot of people came out of World War II convinced that ruthless methods were required to combat tyranny and that every brutal act or dirty trick that had seemed justified in the life-or-death struggle against Hitler was equally justified in combatting the menace of communism.

But those people are nov very old, and many of them are dead, and the right-wing Boomers who are currently running the show just don't have the same passion or conviction. They don't know war -- all they know is money and power. And that's not enough to keep them going.

And it's partly a matter of economics. After World War II, America dominated the world economically -- to the point where there was enough to go around, plenty even to lift the middle class to affluence, and enough for people like the Bushes to skim off the top without it being noticed.

Now that surplus is running out -- which is why they're having to raid Social Security and then try to cancel the IOU's. It's pinching the people like us the most right now, but it's going to catch up with the Bushes and their ilk as well. That's precisely why they're squeezing this country so hard -- because they can no longer squeeze the rest of the world.

It won't be pretty and it won't be painless, but eventually they *will* be gone.
