How did Reagan gut the Fairness Doctrine when Democrats controlled House?

The loss of the Fairness Doctrine was our Waterloo. That inaugurated drooler talk radio which has played on the emotions of millions of brain-dead Americans.

How the heck did this vial of Republican poison get through the House, controlled by, ahem, Democrats?

Sounds like just another example of Democrats buying the rope with which to hang themselves. Thanks, Tip. Great job.

1. Reagan did it..
Reagan's FCC, as I recall...Congress has not be able to overturn that ruling...Seems Federal courts have reinforced this decision..Rational..Same old crap...Corporations are people and can't offend their feelings...Since they are people and subjected to the rights of citizens.. Real crap...
Seems Congress tried to overturn this ruling in the first two years of Clinton's rule...Could not get it pass the Senate..GOP filibuster..

2. OK, thanks for clearing that up. I was under the wrong impression
that our Congress may have had a hand in it.
FCC again.

3. FCC rule that Reagan changed - then Congress passed rule into law &
Reagan veto'd.

The Clinton era had a second attempt to pass rule into law, but GOP filibustered so it was not passed.
