Soc. Sec. New tactic. Instead of scaring seniors, scare the young.
This morning on NPR they were discussing social security and to a person, the younger of the lot said there would be no SS when they got ready to retire. This is a new twist. Politicians used to scare the elderly, now they are scaring the young. So most of those interviewed were for privatization. These Bushits are clever shits.

2. Logical becasue
he knows that the seniors are overwhelmingly opposed to his changes and that AARP will lobby hard against it.

Going after the young is more important because he has more support there and no organized opposition like the AARP.....further, the NASCAR Dad demograpic lies within this group and they are more likely to support him.

3. We talked about this in my economics class today.
The more I learn about it the more I know we should fight this like hell.

My professor talked about why similar programs have failed in other countries, and the reason was because they were voluntary investment programs. For this program to even be close to feasible the investment will have to be mandatory.

I am not going to be forced to gamble my retirement by these fucking fascists.

4. But it WASN'T scaring the elderly, it was telling the truth!
Republicans have spent the last few decades accusing the Democrats of "scaring the elderly" by telling them the Republicans would take away Social Security, which those Republicans claimed was a lie.

But it's NOT a lie. The Republicans guiding policy now are the ones who have treated SS as an anathema for decades, prcisely because it was a "big government" program WHICH WORKED and was popular (no "DMV as the face of government" imagery there).

Dems told the truth about Republican priorities, and it scared people. Republicans lie about their own priorities to scare other people. Where's the new twist, really?
