Woohoo, Our WalMart crusade is on the front page of our local
paper. My husbands picture is there holding his sign for the petition. The article totally ripped our city council members a new one to. I seriously think we have a good chance of stopping Wal-Mart from coming to our town. I'm so excited and pumped right now, and dead tired from hitting the pavement going door-to-door every day.

Send me lots of No Wal-Mart vibes, Woohooo

And thanks again to lwferns daughter for those flyers, I've gone through 3 ink cartridges, and have distributed thousands of them.

1. they stopped it in Inglewood, California
WM ignored the petition and went through the backdoor. There was a city ballot that forbade WM to open. WM I think went to court, to overrule it, and they lost.

Check your town's laws etc, with a fine comb.

4. We are, we have a city zoning ordinance which states
that there can be no retail building over 100,000 square feet. The city council is trying to amend that ordinance so Wal-MArt can come in. We can't get a referendum because its against state law to get a referendum on a zoning amendment. See how they got around the people on that. We are taking to an attorney too.
