Not that most people want to be bothered with facts, but everywhere that caps on damage awards have been enacted, healthcare costs and insurance premiums have gone UP, not down.

When Bushco tort reform fails, who or what will the GOP blame for it?

Will it be the ubiquitous Clenis?

7. Specifically
The elderly, the disabled, and the poor. Look for a T-4 Program opening up in neighborhoods all over Amerika.

For those who do not know the Operation T-4 was the systematic killing of the mentally ill and the handicapped under the Nazi
Regime.

I'm sure that Bush and his supporters could expand that to include the elderly as well. Personally it's only a matter of time in my opinion.

But I could be totally wrong!!!

5. they will blame the people (like they already have)
Edited on Thu Feb-03-05 02:43 PM by Solly Mack
"people will learn to use health care more effectively"...from an article that was in LBN, on people paying for a private health care plan instead of a health care plan through their place of employment.

They feel people abuse their health care plans via their employer and that attributes to higher costs. If they can stop health insurance through employers then people will go to the doctor less...and they see this as a good thing....since going to the doctor is "abusing" their health plan.

I'll look for the link and post it on edit.

9. They'll go down the line of excuses...
Edited on Thu Feb-03-05 03:15 PM by bush still has to go
Until they hit one that the populace can't shrug off as being bullshit or can't do a thing about, then the repukes will say "oh well, we tried...nothing more we can do" (while healthcare is still spiraling through the roof and investors/insurers are making $ hand over fist)

I think the bottom excuse will be either the overweight/obese ("yer too fat--what'dya expect?") or more likely, the old/elderly ("old people cost more to cover--deal with it"). The populace aren't going to pile onto the elderly and blame them (aside from the repukes that want to be rid of them), so they'll just accept any further cost increases as being rightfully justified.
