This morning's Oregonian newspaper hilariously said that perhaps if Bush's actions about working with all kinds of folks to come up with a solution to the ginned-up social security crisis, then maybe a good workable solution would come out of it.

The Oregonian is soooo cay-ute when it does the "Charlie Brown kicking the football" thing. No matter how roughshod the corrupt Bush administration runs over any issue, the Oregonian is always there the next time, ready to be all conciliatory and compromising, with the Pollyanna hopefulness that says they never really learn anything.

And then, after whatever scheme the Bushistas have foisted upon the Republic has again failed to deliver on the rhetoric, the Oregonian sternly tut-tuts the disappointing result, and then becomes Pollyanna again for the next scheme.

I'd call them idiots, but I'm not persuaded they don't know what they're doing.
