Credit Cards Co. are required to find out if you're a U.S. Citizen or not
due to the Patriot Act. I just called my credit card company for a card replacement and they said they had to update my records due to the Patriot Act. The only question they asked was whether I was a U.S. citizen. What's up with that?

3. Go ahead and call your credit company and ask for a replacement.
See what happens.

4. I'm not saying it isn't true
I just got a new credit and nobody asked if I was a citizen. I called another CC company because of a dispute and the woman on the phone (outsourced customer service) asked me all sorts of questions about my address, phone number, etc but nothing about my citizenship. Maybe they aren't all doing it. I can't see how it could possibly be effective in any way - but then, we are talking about the Patriot Act. I guess it doesn't have to make sense. :)

2. All financial institutions are required to collect this info
My local bank put up a notice that they may require birth certificates to open new accounts. I guess John Asskkkrack wanted to make sure terra-ists couldn't open accounts here with phoney-baloney names.
