Democrats think that we the people are stupid?
Appearently somebody thinks that is the case. Of course these are the same people who probably think Social Security is a Ponzi scheme.

THey think that Dems raise our taxes because they think we are stupid.

To put it bluntly...

The liberals in the government think you are too stupid to control your own assets. That's why they want to hike up your taxes, and put it into a safe account, where it grows at a 2% clip. Then when you retire, you will receive enough money a month to buy a loaf of bread, and a few lottery tickets. When you pass on, nothing gets transferred to your children: after all, you've basically wiped out your savings accounts to pay for the cost of living since your Social Security really isn't security at all. So in other words, if you are poor to begin with, you will die poor, and then your children will gain nothing from your passing. It's a good way to keep people on government programs for generations.
<snip>

So basically the Democrats consider the American people to be idiots?

Sounds about right to me.

Um, how does that work at getting votes again?
Oh that's right, they aren't getting many these days are they?

LMMFAO...

24. By that standard, RAP music would just do the trick for you.
I'm not against the beat, but listening to m-f this and m-f that is as tedious as listening to OMG everone is an idiot.

Try researching what you are talking about and using intelligent arguments. Then throw in some strong words for flavor.

Strong words without substance is like garlic soup. Yuck.

In a battle of wits, it's good to bring ammunition.

25. Another DEM buying the republican lies. Are you all cattle?
In other threads there are huge discussions on the specifics of what is being talked about, what legislation is being aimed at us...

There is a thread about GOP introduces bill to suspend ALL laws

THAT is serious. Calling people idiots is childish. A waste of time.

8. I don't consider the democrats idiots
or the greens or independents really. But there's not much to say on behalf of the republicans. The are indeed the "American Idiots" because they voted for him. They actually voted for bush. I still refuse to beleive that the majority did, but they helped put him in office all the same.

Massachusetts, as well as it's many other virtues, is the smartest state. I WONDER WHY????

Reitrement saving should be compulsory because otherwise 99% of the public would spend the money like dumbasses, ending up broke. That's why we have SS. You shouldn't have the freedom when it comes to this sort of thing. If you did, and you were responsible you MAY end up better off...hell you probably would. But the problem is most people are NOT RESPONSIBLE...and would end up being a burden on society. This is why FICA taxes aren't optional.

14. THANK YOU, Lefty. I continue to make this same point over and
over, but people are so adamant about proving how fucking smart they are that they insist on believing really dumb things. With Repubs in power, this sort of attitude has grown exponentially. It reminds me of the two-year-old who insists he'll be okay running into the traffic. Splat.

20. seems to me like people are selfish
no one really needs to become a burden to "society". Instead they would be a burden to their children or the children of their siblings. Then again, why does it need to be a burden? What are our problems - old people who feel useless and have nothing to do. Parents who are overwhelmed by caring for their children. Seems like having a parent or uncle in the house would help on both ends. The older people could help with the child care, giving them something to do, and maybe passing some wisdom to future generations.
But not in this modern America. Older people do not want to put up with their children and grandchildren when they can goto the casino and take cruises and be snow-birds or tourists instead. Younger people do not want to put up with their parents more than three times a year, and children would rather watch TV or play x-box than listen to some boring old person talk about history.
It is impossible to be a burden to society because we no longer have a society.

23. OK, but isn't it idiotic not to raise the cap on FICA?
I assume you don't make over $90,000 a year. Maybe I'm wrong.

But don't you think that people who make between $90,000 a year and oh say $3 million should pay in beyond that $90,000 cap?

If we lifted that cap, up to $3 million, we'd have a lot more money going into SS. Why do the average people have to pay full price and get taxed on every dollar they make and the rich get a free ride after $90,000?

11. Many people are idiots...they buy into and succumb to
the marketing and materialism that this country is built on. That's why they don't save for retirement and THAT's why we need SS. According to the Fed, the consumer has kept our economy afloat this last few years...why? Because Americans want to buy stuff they see on TV and everywhere they go! How hypocritical to act as if poor people would be doing better without SS? Bullshit!

22. If SS is truly to be fixed and if people are to be given ...
some say in where to invest their money, letting Bush at it is a mistake. He owes a lot of money on what he's borrowed against SS and wants to make his obligation disappear to balance his budget the easy way, by making another problem simply not exist.

He did it with Global Warming... and Election Fraud... oh and Torture and ummmm 8.8 Billion misappropriated in Iraq.

Why would we pay more (substantially more) to rush in and spend money when there's no clear plan as to how it would really work - just Bush's assurances that it will.

I think there can be dialogue on carefully working this out, but trusting a monkey with your car keys is a bad idea. Giving Bush permission to spend your money is another. His plan gives us even less with only the "promise" of getting a better return that comes from a man who can't keep a promise to a camp fire girl much less the nation.

uh, I don't know any david lee roth at all, but I asked on another forum what I should pick so I can register there. They said Lois should like Ice Cream Man, and her favorite album is Panama. I hope those are good picks.

I find Lois to be a bit uppity in general, but sometimes sock puppets take on a personality of their own.
