I agree with posters at DU that we need to put pressure on democratic senators to stand firm but we really need to be contacting the republican senators and take a more offensive role. Bush is recruiting his base to pressure democrats and we need to be doing our best to disrupt his momentum with republican senators.
The mainstream media is already buying into the Bush talking points such as "saving social security". We need to try to reframe the debate in the media. Bush wants to dismantle social security to pay for his tax cuts. Privitization benefits Wall Street not working Americans. etc.
Also, Bush is attacking social security to abolish it but also to keep Americans from challenging him on other issues. It is a diversion as well as an attack on democrats.

Everyone in the Senate should be hearing our voices, not exclusively the dems. The republicans need to know we're watching them, too.
