ANOTHER laura bush* fashion failure (PHOTOS)....so embarrassing
Edited on Sat Feb-05-05 04:06 PM by diamond14

the designer of THIS abomination should be FIRED immediately!
....pickles EMBARRASSES the USA with her appearance, better that she stay home with her cigarettes/booze/Xanax....that's the major problem with all the bushites, they surround themselves with INCOMPETENT people....

Designer Oscar De La Renta (L), heart disease survivor Maria Perez-Bartone, First Lady Laura Bush and designer Carolina Herrera arrive at the Red Dress Collection 2005 Show at New York's Fashion Week, February 4, 2005. http://www.nytimes.com/2005/02/05/fashion/05tents.html?hp

"I like fashion; it's fun," Mrs. Bush told reporters after the show, which included 26 dresses by 26 designers worn by 26 celebrities of varying fame, from Paula Abdul and Sarah Ferguson to the children of rock stars and models. Mrs. Bush applauded each look as it passed by and told those seated near her, one of them said later, that she needed to acquire more red outfits.

1. I could give a flying flip about fashion...
...but even I, a man with no good taste whatsoever, can see how horrible she dresses.

2. Re: the third picture
Once, on the Carol Burnett show, Carol did a spoof on "Gone With the Wind" where she pulled the drapes off the window and made them into a dress. It was hilarious when Carol did it. However, the dress in the third picture looks just like those drapes. Hideous!!!

14. Herrera designed Caroline Kennedy's wedding dress
and we copied one of her designs for my daughter's wedding dress. They were just beautiful, very simple and elegant.

Now I don't know what to think could have happened to her with those atrocious creations for Laura Bush. Maybe she is a Democrat and wants to humiliate the Bushes. Hmmm....

30. Maybe if Laura had remembered the curtain rod on the shoulders...
to complete the outfit, she might look a teensy bit better....nah, she'd still look like a major fashion disaster.

3. It's not that bad--the lady to her left looks even worse.
Red photographs badly, and while I think the Bush women have the WORST fashion sense of public women figures... it's okay.

It's not great, it's not terrible.

10. What?
The first outfit doesn't even match! Colors clash. Second one makes her ass look huge! Wonder if she asked bushie "does this dress make my ass look big?" Every time I see one of her more repulsive outfits, I think of the "Emperor's New Clothes".

18. For her, it's not bad.
The colors do clash, but maybe it's just the photo?(that's why I mentioned red being hard to photograph)

I guess I'm just saying I'm used to much, MUCH worse from Laura...like that gold thing with the blue bow.

The dress in the third picture is awful, but I've seen that before. It looks like a coat.

This is why I'm hesitant to believe she's a 6--she dresses like a Puritan. I bet there's even a picture around with a big ole belt buckle and a white collar floating around!

29. "hesitant to believe she's a 6"
Sizes don't mean anything to bushes. She's whatever size SHE tells the designers. "Yes, your majesty, you ARE a 6, and a l-o-v-e-l-y one at that. There must be something wrong with that particular dress, yes, I know it SAYS it's a 6. I will have the tailor shot."

42. If Oprah could say she was a 14 when she was a deuce and a half
...Laura can say she is a six. They put fake sizes in those dresses, just to make the rich feel thinner. It's stupid if you ask me. But that goes with the price of the dress--a shitload of lies and flattery.

I can't get behind the Laura hating. She may not be the savviest knife in the drawer, but we'd actually be better off if she was running the country. Hell, she was a registered Democrat until she married the boyking. And her kids BEGGED their "deddy" NOT to run for pretzeldunce. Sadly, he doesn't listen to the women in his family, except for maybe BAR--he's askeered ah her!!

1. The jacket's not bad.

2. The outfit's gorgeous compared to the placenta-magenta shirtwaist evening gown.

3. It wouldn't look nearly so awful if it weren't bang up against bright red.

Think again.

I see women in our area's trailer park who have more dignity and class than Pickles any day of the week. I have taught some of their children. I can see how they struggle.

My first thought on finishing The Family was about how they are less classy than any trailer park family I can think of.

35. The sad thing is
they are the family of the free world and they don't have people to help them with their fashion? I know if I was a first daughter I'd surely take it up. I might not have great fashion like a royal family member or something but I do know what clashes and what doesn't. Blah. But they are not very classy. I think one of the classiest first lady's was Mrs. Kennedy (Jackie).

34. The First Pic Doesn't Look So Bad
I think if the skirt were cut longer (2nd photo) or the camera angle were slightly different, it would've looked much better.

Her style of dress doesn't do much for me, but I'd suspect my mother and her sister may be admiring.

Although Nancy Reagan on *occasion* looked divine, and Roselyn was a class act, no first lady since Jackie Kennedy has been anywhere near worth writing home to France about.

when basic health care is lacking for 45 million Americans, presumably half women, this is a major pile of doodoo meant to encourage the intake of statin drugs and overflow the coffers of drug companies. But don't get me started . . . (As for the dresses, give me a comfy pair of jeans and a sweater.)

45. No sense of line,no sense of beauty and no sense of color
and no sense of what her body looks best in. She is wide in the rear, and long in the breast, and generally dumpy, without taste and thinks of fashion, it is all fun. She is desperately trying to look young, as if she were twenty and the more she tries, the more ridiculous she looks. It must be fun to dress up like a lump of material, expensive material, in the hopes that the fabric will display beauty, instead of the woman wearing it. That is the problem. She is intrigued by the embellishments and thinks that is fashion, no matter how cheapo looking, unsophisticated a fashion victim it makes her appear.

And those shoes--just loverly.

She needs help, but I have read that she is so stubborn that no one can tell her what to do and insists upon her way even if it makes her look hideous.

What is that thing? A velveteen straight jacket?
