he's the 'bad mullah' and he did not really have much of any presence in the election.

The 'good mullah' al sistani's slate it appears has won, big time. But I've been convinced for over a year that these guys are working together, probably with guidance from Iran. They've been playing our occupation to their advantage with great skill. We are about to have to make a choice between handing Iraq over to the shiite caliphate or abrogating the election, ending all that freemon and moxy that we've been using as our excuse for occupying the mesopotamian oil fields as the planet runs out of cheap oil. It should be interesting to see how exactly we deal with the shiite fundy government.

The rubber hits the road, or the shiiite hits the fan, when the new government formally requests that we 1) return to our bases, and 2) leave on their schedule.
