there are likely much better solutions which can be applied
on a global scale.

For example, some time ago (10 years?) there was a German study
about using finely ground up granite in the forests, apparently
stimulating the growth of trees in the forest. I'm not sure
what happened with that study, but apparently the theory was to
mimic the actions of ice ages (receding glaciers in the time of
global warming exposing lots of granite gravel, forests grow and
fix CO2, cycle of warming ends, cycle of cooling begins with
glaciers advancing again)
