8. Its wonderful to watch the mindset in operation

Not only did she confront the interviewer as being wrong but when he wouldn't back down she refused to acknowledge she was wrong. Just goes to show their methodology. I have seen it countless times before in the creationism debates I have taken part in or witnessed.

The standard tactic is to make some claim that seems sound on the surface but if there is anyone that knows the truth is going to require a lot of explanation that will bore the audience. I have watched countless examples of this tactic and the punchline is that even if your theory gets completely dismantled do not acknowledge it and the next time you debate someone else pull it out again and hope they don't know about the flaw.

The whole point to this tactic is to sew disention and misunderstanding. Then when someone tries to make a claim based on the truth countless people will deny it because they have been tainted by this false information.

Its just an application of the old "tell a lie enough times and it becomes the truth."

13. The Fifth Estate show on the CBC also ...

had a very interesting segment on the multi-million dollar complex run by the republicans to monitor the media, all media, and generate an immediate response to any 'negative' coverage as well as generating talking points to fire out, en masse, to the pundits. It was fascinating. I sure hope the Democrats have a comparable organization!
