Does anyone feel that on any given issue, their voices are heard,
their opinions matter and those in power take them into account when reaching decisions? Although I am sure most would say no to these questions after Bush came to power, has it always been this way and we have been essentially spectators in a grand charade?

2. on consumer issues I've been heard
I've repeatedly been able to get help on consumer issues from a variety of government entities in order to resolve disputes and problems in my favors.

On larger issues, no, I feel my concerns are not being addressed.

The conservation movement is a breeding ground of communists
and other subversives. We intend to clean them out,
even if it means rounding up every birdwatcher in the country.

4. Not for many years
My agenda is very big. I want many issues dealth with. The fundies have a very small agenda: anti-gay, anti-choice, and prayer in schools. This why their collective voice gets heard by a hijacked Republican Party. Poverty, jobs, fairness, environment have no chance against simplicity.

5. I don't have any representation in government
My congressman is 110% nazi and my senators are about as lame as they come, whenever I contact their offices it doesn't matter if I'm very polite or use the vilest language.
I get the same form letter thanking me for my interest, my file grows and they laugh at me.

6. I do on a state level
Our state rep and senator are good to make it to local fundraisers, they are very good people, and they are Democrats.

Nationally I'm not so sure. My rep is a Democrat, but he's one of those polished politicians. He never came to one fundraiser that we did, although we were campaigning for him also.

As far as senators, Bill Frist - need I say more? Lamar Alexander is okay for a Repug but I'd rather have a Dem in there.
