Does Bush have a credibility gap?
Isn't that the way it gets into the media - a subtle question.

Maybe we need to do a poll or two on specific issues like Iraq, S.S.....etc.

5. Just wait ten minutes.
People are feeling friendly because of the Iraqi elections.

The real approval rating will go back to 40-something very soon.

Let's see how many Republicans were sampled. I'm sure they skewed the sample to bias the result.

7. No, but he should have
For some reason that I don't understand, people believe him even when they are told things are not so. The % of Bush voters who believed there were Al Quiada/saddam connections and wmd was high - even though he was forced to back off both claims.

I can't think of any President where so many people are willing to either not question or to totally suspend disbelief. How does he do this?

14. It is faith based. The entire World needs to quit pussy-footing
around and go on the offense against belief systems that rely on articles of faith with no basis in reality. Yes, I mean religion. Two thousand years of fighting over whose faith is infallible and whose is apostacy or idolatry is enough. When zealots were hacking away at each other with swords this may have been tolerable, but with nuclear and biological weapons, jet aircraft and AK-47s this kind of foolishness must end.

11. Does it matter?
I think what we learn from the Clinton/Bush presidencies is that without a hostile congress and a partisan, activist media stirring the pot, people just don't care. There's also a lot to be said for the Big Lie theory, first explored by the Nazis. Clinton told a little lie and was pilloried. Bush (you tell me who's the smart one) tells big lie after big lie, and because the truth is so appalling, most Americans choose to believe the lie.

19. Right...What credibility???
so..i would say no..no credibility gap..none whatsoever!! I guess in the usa...there are those 50% who continue to believe what ever their controllers tell them to believe...true believers to the end...and act of faith because that is the kind of folks they are..but in the rest of the world...no...no credibility gap..no credibility at all.
