CBS News: White House is Trying to Link Iraq/911
Edited on Tue Sep-09-03 05:35 PM by Cush
Reporter: They are shifting away from WMDs to saying its part of the war on terror, trying to link Iraq with 9/11, when no such link exists

Now talking about the extended tours for the Guard and Reserves, with interviews

Off camera, they were more blunt. THey said they were lied to. They don't know what to believe.

One guy says that he has a business back home & the units they fought along with are already home.

Film from last March, one wife said she was supportive and was sure her husband would be back home, but now she has no idea when he'll be back. They can talk every two weeks for maybe 10 minutes

2. I hope that for their dimmer viewers,
CBS comes right out and says, six times for every WH point, that there is NO connection. Some of our fellow cits are overly susceptible to suggestion.

one soldier: You won't be able to bleep out everything I want to say about this.

SOme families are bitter that Bush didn't tell the families that they're loved ones would be getting extended tours in his speech Sunday night

4. NBC did the same story
The Washington Post poll and no link ever shown between 9/11 and Iraq. I was surprised to see it. Glad to hear it was on CBS as well.

5. The Bushies are having an easy time revising history...

...because the Free Press is literally dead in America.

- The American media may occasionally mention that there's no known link between 9-11...but none of them have called the Bush* admin's ongoing use of this false connection what it is: a bold lie.

- Only a few in the media will use the word LIE when it comes to reporting about the Bushies. The media has lowered the bar so much that the executive branch is no longer required to back up their statements with facts.

6. They are just...
now putting that together!?! They have only been doing this since the first plane hit, with, I might add, the full compliance of most media outlets! I am glad they are telling the truth finally, but this should hardly new news.

8. It may be time now to see the media rub some of the blood off

their hands on to the malAdministration's flight suits. Gee, could they have any professional responsibility when whatever unbeliEEEvable xx% of the citizenry believe night is day about a vital national issue? And aside from professionalism, could they have maybe dropped the baton on an esSENtial Constitutional DUTY!

We need the question put! The next twinge of journalistic vertebrae should be a question, put to Rice and AssCroft and Darth Rumeister and Ridge and Cheney and aWol: was Saddam involved in the 9/11 attacks? Ask it over and over until the creeps are tired of honing talking points on it. Ask this gang why they have done such a poor job of correcting the public's false and dangerous impression. Ask them what they have found connecting Saddam since we invaded the country. Ask them what they learned today about Saddam and 9/11. Ask them is there any news on the involvement of Saddam.

This lie of theirs is at the core of their current, expanding cloud of smoke: that Iraq is the frontline in the war on Terra.

Bloody media.

I know, there are a few exceptions, and we should be grateful they do their jobs. And for them, it ain't a bed of roses.

Sometimes they have to gang up:
