Bush Administration really hammered on NBC news tonight...

You westerners will see in the next hour: members of Congress from both parties are skeptical of the $87 billion; the military is stretched too thin (though no mention of the D-word); another report reminding people that Iraq had no involvement in 9/11; and 2 stories on the deteriorating situation in the Middle East and Afghanistan.

With all this "tough questioning", why do they keep saying that Congress will grant the request for $87B? It seems to me there are just as many repugs upset about the cost and unanswered questions as Dems.

if you were a repug congressperson going back to your constituency where folks have been out of work for over a year, where schools in your district are crumbling, and gas prices out of sight wouldn't you be cautious about giving the green light to $87billion on top of of the $70 billion alread approved for? That is, unless you've got your head in the sand and don't mind being stoned, hung, drawn and quartered by people you represent? :shrug:

6. I watched as well..but I don't see how the "next step" is going to be

taken...and that is their investigative pens are dry. They just report the "fluff"..there is plenty of substance. they can hang * if they wanted.
