DU Action Alert! After Rathergate, how can CBS regain credibility?
Well, it's obvious! The NG Secretary that proved that the documents were false, ALSO testified that the STORY was true! She said that she remembered the controversy and that BUSH RECEIVED SPECIAL TREATMENT!!!

This was the STORY! Did GWB receive "special treatment" while he was in the Guard? YES!!! They have the story, they have the proof.

We need to email CBS and let them know if they want to re-establish their credibility, they need to FINISH THE STORY!!!

They will be vindicated. But only if they stop licking their wounds and point out that even though some of their evidence was "planted", THEY WERE STILL RIGHT!!!

1. They need to document the true origins of the fax
and the amazing ability of certain well connected freepers to demonstrate that it was a forgery within hours of being unveiled

2. Why should we care if CBS regains credibility or not?
The Right surely isn't worried about FOX's credibility.

Besides, why would CBS go BACK to the story that took away their credibility in the first place, at the risk of harming it even further? How about somebody else finishes the story -- like NBC or ABC, for example?

4. Oh, I dunno, maybe to stop the B* propaganda machine?
They've been screwed by the Propaganda machine, and rest of MSM is drinking the kool-aid. It just seems to me that they would be a little more willing to actual cover some issues if we let them know they have an audience that's willing to watch.

Is there something wrong with that logic?

6. Exactly, and the GOP air-waves are trying to bankrupt CBS.
If we can convince them that there is a audience that is willing to listen and watch as long as they are truthful, they will consider broadcasting the truth!

Hey! ENOUGH negativity! We have an opportunity! You have NO FUCKING RIGHT to complain about the MSM if you don't do something to change it!

Are you a whiner, or are you a DOer (or, a DUer)?

9. I have not watched television news....
since the election. It is a sea of propaganda, and I will find my news elsewhere. I sure wish it weren't so but it is. I write my LTTE's because while there are biased articles there are some very good journalists that inform me. I find it a total waste of time and energy to rail against the likes of Viacom, GE,etc. I have EVERY FUCKING RIGHT to express my opinion. Thats why I'm here.

5. They're as credible as they ever were.
Rathergate is bullshit.

Now...as to if they were ever credible in the first place...

7. When will Faux Moos gain any credibility? When will Faux Moos mention
NO "WMD" in Iraq, after the huge amount of "we found em"s never corrected by Faux Moos?

When will Mann Coulter admit she was stupid and wrong every time she said "Hussein kicked out the UN weapons inspectors"? When will it admit it was stupid & wrong for saying Canada sent troops to 'Nam?

When will rightwingnut pundits admit to all the lies they still spout on a daily basis?

8. CBS had just a smidgen of credibility
And not very much, when they aired the story. They lost it all when they caved in. The time to bring out the TANG secretary was the next day, or the same day.
