War on poverty has turned to war on the poor,
unfirm, disabled, old and young. We're fighting a war and our veterans are coming home severely maimed (about 15000 so far) and the gop wants to CUT veterans programs. Many of these veterans are homeless and jobless. These supposedly prolife people would think nothing of cutting WIC, medicaid, etc. for mothers and their children. No Child Left Behind which was underfunded to begin with is being cut. We are still down about 300,000 jobs and many folks who are back to work have taken cuts in pay and benefits. They wanna cut job training and bring in guest workers from other countries.

We should be opening dentist and doctor facilities in every public school in this country. Family resource centers at schools should have a list of all help available to families within the community.

We need to make our education system like many countries in Europe where children go through 9th grade (I think) and then they either get trade training or college prep.

1. The Silverspoon Sociopath and his Junta
don't give a damn about any Amerikan unless they can put money into the Junta and their friend's pockets. The Middle Class will be the Working Poor and the Poor will on the streets begging. The wealthy will live in their seperated mansions. Amerika will soon be a Fascist Police State with 3RD World economic population.

5. Yes, see then Amerikan companies don't have to go overseas
to get people who are willing to work for $1 a week. Nike and others wont have to look for children in Indonesia and South Amerika to put together their products. Amerikans can send their six year olds to work and make a profit off them. It's about time the poor started capitalizing on their biggest resource - their children. They could even send a few seven and eight year olds into the porn industry and make thousands. Can you just envision the wonderful world the neocons have in store for us.

2. people who hoard
The USA has plenty of money, more than enough to take care of the poor and all their basic needs for adequate nutrition, healthcare, and housing.

The problem is that most of this money is now in the hoards of filthy lucre held by the rich and the corporate, not in the coffers of the US treasury.

People and businesses that hoard money are, basically, sick and scared... as is most of this country... malignant egophrenics, worried only about themselves and unable to think well about others.

It's that old bully in the sandbox thing. I can destroy all your sandcastles and toys, drive you outta the box, just because I can and want to. I want it all... and you can be my wageslave if you can hack it. Uggghhh.

Sue

3. hoard money = no energy flow - the money has to be moving
just like a blood clot - when it is stashed and not moving - it is doing no one any good and eventually you have clogged arteries and you die

4. In so many areas
things are going the opposite way that they need to go. In this time of high fuel costs he wants large cuts to the Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program.
Wages are going down and he is cutting food stamps to the working poor and cutting Community Services Block Grant, a big part on the "ear on poverty".
Besides the cuts in medicaid he is cutting other health services and training programs.

But making the tax cuts permanant is high priority and even the media talking to those who oppose that accuse them of wanting a tax increase.

Budget is just one area that he goes for the opposite of what common sense and decency calls for.

And his approval ratings are up and the ratingsa for Dems in congress are going down.

What happened to reality?

6. You know maybe Amerika is getting what it deserves.
The Dems let the neocons steal the election twice with hardly a whimper. Then instead of protests in the street we get RW media telling us it's nothing but a conspiracy theory. The people use to run this country now the neocons do. Maybe wiping out the middle class is what the middle class deserves for letting it happen to them.

7. and TV Preachers have brainwashed the masses.
MILLIONS are brainwashed into believing the rapture shit. They really believe that Jesus is at a rest stop around Alpha Centauri having a cup of coffee with Michael Landon and He's gonna get into his Rolls in a minute or two and head for Earth to start the Rapture.

14. Matthew 25:40-45
40“The King will reply, ‘I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me.’

41“Then he will say to those on his left, ‘Depart from me, you who are cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels. 42For I was hungry and you gave me nothing to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me nothing to drink, 43I was a stranger and you did not invite me in, I needed clothes and you did not clothe me, I was sick and in prison and you did not look after me.’

44“They also will answer, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or needing clothes or sick or in prison, and did not help you?’

45“He will reply, ‘I tell you the truth, whatever you did not do for one of the least of these, you did not do for me.’

Maybe we should be like that "John 3:16 Guy" and hold up "Matthew 25:40-45" on signs at televised events.

9. Great topic.
On November 10, 1972, Nixon aide Patrick Buchanan wrote a secret memo that outlined the "New American Revolution" that they planned for the second term. Obviously, Watergate got in the way. However, it is important that DUers become familiar with the genesis of the plan that the Bush administration is pushing now. The Buchanan plan includes sections such as "The Great Society R.I.P." which not only targets the ending of social programs that benefit the poor financially, but which benefit the professional (middle) class politically.

This memo and hundreds more can be found in Bruce Oudes' book "From: The President," a study of Richard Nixon's secret files. They are at very least as important as the far more famous White House tapes.

10. That's the entire rethug party platform, and always has been.
If you're middle class or poor, it's your own fault so just bugger off & die.

bush is AGAIN planning to cut our soldier veterans' benefits. He's cutting 48 EDUCATION programs; poor HOUSING grants; FOODSTAMPS. That's what rethugs do.

a user blog titled "I am a Republican fuck you"
Had all those greedy stereotypes, and then a "so fuck you" as a clarifer. I went back to look for it today, but couldn't find it.
