NBC's Brian Williams: GOP's "Go-To Network Anchor"
Edited on Tue Feb-08-05 11:07 AM by high density
While Fox News Channel remains the favorite network of Republican lawmakers, NBC's new anchor, Brian Williams, is the one turning GOP heads. Message guru and former MSNBC contributor Frank Luntz says in a confidential memo to Hill leaders that Williams has emerged as the "go-to network anchor" because of his brains and "lack of detectable ideological bias." Luntz credits NBC Executive Producer Steve Capus for "a flawless transition to a new generation of news anchor." Still, Fox and CNN lead the nets when it comes to GOP loyalty.

A loyalty between CNN and the GOP? That's amazing. I thought they were the liberal channel? :eyes: (btw, sarcasm)

1. Wasn't Williams the one that said
Wasn't Brian Williams the guy who said, when talking to a GOP insider regarding an election, "how many seats do we need?"

(my emphasis on we)

3. Don't know, but had some favorable comments about Rush
I don't have the exact quote, but the gist was that he seemed to view shows like Limbaugh as being legitimate counter to the liberal media.

I haven't watched him sicne taking over (mainly because I don't make it home from the office while the network news is still on). Has he shown any conservative bias while on? It is possible for someone to be conservative and still have a good news show, such as with Aaron Brown.

4. Agreed on Brown, and I could be wrong on Williams
And his quote. However, if he calls Limbaugh legitimate news, I will never watch him.

2. Yeah, the Clinton News Network...................
but that was BEFORE the giant tax cuts CNN got from the bush baby. They now know which side of their bread is buttered and by whom.

Frank Luntz is such a tool, every time I see his stupid face on TV all I can think about is a drooling lap dog so happy to please his master.

Brian Williams.........I wonder how much extra HE'S getting paid to spread the "good times" agenda of the bush baby?

5. ugh
He was so terrible in 2000 when he was an anchor for MSNBC. He would literally sneer whenever he had to mention Gore's name. You could see his seething hatred for Democrats just from his reading of the news.

I have no intention of every watching him on NBC...none.

6. I think there's a grammatical mistake
"...leaders that Williams has emerged as the "go-to network anchor" because of his brains and "lack of detectable ideological bias."

should be

"...leaders that Williams has emerged as the "go-to network anchor" because of his lack of brains and "detectable ideological bias."

This is being openly discussed in US News????????????????

"Still, Fox and CNN lead the nets when it comes to GOP loyalty."

So, it's basically an open "secret" that Fox (well no kidding) AND CNN are loyal GOP fronts??????????? This is too outrageous for words...I mean we all knew it, but it's just given as in "ho hum, yeah, we're all competing for kneepads"...:eyes: sick sick sick sick sick...
