The US Dept. of Defense & the Humanetics Corporation announce...
that they are to "Develop Multiple Compounds to Protect against Radiation Exposure in Terrorist Attack"

MINNEAPOLIS, Feb. 8 /U.S. Newswire/ -- An agreement with far- reaching potential was announced today by Humanetics Corporation, the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences (USU), and the Henry M. Jackson Foundation for the Advancement of Military Medicine, Inc. (HJF). The focus of this agreement is to develop and commercialize nutritional supplements and drugs that show promise in supporting and protecting the immune system against challenges from exposure to radiation resulting from terrorist attack or nuclear incident.
...
"The nutritional supplements we intend to investigate generally have a history of safety, are orally administered, cost effective, easily stored, and readily distributed to large numbers of people," stated Ronald Zenk, President and CEO of Humanetics. "The Master CRADA enables Humanetics to collaborate with DoD scientists to facilitate discovery and development of promising new compounds to protect those who might be exposed to radiation. We look forward to this joint project to research and develop products that provide a level of protection to the military, first responders, and civilians."

U.S. Army Colonel David G. Jarrett, M.D., Director of the AFRRI, stated, "This project will allow expansion of our research. We believe this program will accelerate the development of new ways to address radiation-related terrorism threats, and may provide a safe, cost-effective means of diminishing radiation injury for large numbers of people."
...
In addition to approximately 10 million U.S. military and first responders responsible for dealing with a terrorist attack, it is estimated that there are 90 million civilians in the top 10 metropolitan areas that are considered potential victims. If these nutritional supplements are proven to be effective in protecting the immune system against the harmful effects of radiation, Humanetics believes that these supplements would be recommended for consumption during the highest alert periods as established by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.

1. That's scary for so many different reasons
I'm proud to be from Minneapolis where our companies are working to create the blue pill or the red pill. You choose!

Saying they "generally have a history of safety" wouldn't coax me to be first in line for testing!

"Our mission is to enhance human health, longevity and well-being by applying a disciplined, scientific approach to commercialize innovative and unique dietary supplement, pharmaceutical and cosmetic products."

Shall I repeat that Dave?

3. All this makes me suspect the U.S. is planning to attack their own people.
in order to blame it on someone else and to justify another war

5. Or they just intend on manipulating fear to get richer.
Of course, there are probably more seemingly far fetched reasons for administering meds to people in "the top 10 metropolitan areas".

It's just spooky and it makes me sad that I don't have a lick of confidence that their stated motives are genuine.
