Tell your Wingnut friends to try a personal experiment in Bush economics
Tell them to take this three step approach to their personal finances:

1) Ask for a significant salary reduction at work

2) Increase their personal expenses by at least 25%

3) Get as many credit cards as they can and use those to pay for everything.

If they're reluctant to do this on a personal level, then ask them why they think this is sound economic policy for the country.

1. Yes, what we're seeing here Rich is a classic case of cognitive dissonance
At least that's the soundtrack that plays in my mind when I ask questions like this to the RW nutters I know.

3. That could make a
real good ad. It explains the situation in a way that people can relate to it. If only someone would make something like that and the media would 'accept' it for airing.

4. Sad thing is
They are doing that. There is a lot less saving going on, much more credit card debt, and then they take bankruptcy. It is truly sad.

7. I always put the budget into my life to see what it sounds like
This one is the best ever. First I am not paying my rent any more but I will sign a note with them that my children will pay with interest.. I then can spend that money on a new car which I really do not need but I want to have a bigger and better one than every one else. I can drive all over as fast and just where I wish. I am still working on what to do with my trade problem and who will loan me more money but their must be some one out their that does not think I should sink so will come to my aid. I am hoping my ex-husband will as I am sure like China he is only after what is best for me.I am going to for get that I owe money on such things as phone, cable and heat. I will think about that later.
