Jeff Gannon aka Jim Guckert, and gay smut
by kos
Tue Feb 8th, 2005 at 14:47:46 PST

Oh man, reality is truly stranger than fiction.

"Jeff Gannon", the White House press propagandist "correspondent" for the fake "Talon" news service, turns out to be using a nom de plume.

A group of dKos diarists have been peeling away the layers of Gannon's fake persona, summarized by World O'Crap. In one of those diaries, this revelation is made by Radically Bitter: Among the domains owned by Gannon/Guckert are these:
jeffgannon.com
Hotmilitarystud.com
Militaryescorts.com
Militaryescortsm4m.com
In case this isn't clear enough, those last three are gay sex-themed names. Suddenly, his picture looks appropriately in character.

So why is this relevant, other than today seems to have become "Republicans and sex hypocrisy day"?
In reviewing White House press conferences from the past year, Media Matters for America has noted numerous instances in which Gannon's lobs -- leading questions that often include false assumptions favorable to the Bush administration -- have allowed McClellan to move to friendlier turf, away from having to answer questions on such issues as the proposed Federal Marriage Amendment; <...>
So in addition to the "hyprocrisy and sex" thing, we've got the "hypocrisy and gay" thing.

Pay per view of Smirk in his flight suit?

2. How would his being gay be hypocritical?
Is this a guy that has written harshly about homosexuals?

If not, this pretty fucking low.

4. He is the lap dog of the right wing republicans
and right wing republicans will take every opportunity they can to discriminate and slander gays and lesbians

THEREFORE,

if he is gay and is also the lapdog of rightwing republicans

THEN

he is a hypocrit.

28. It's never ok to mock someone because of their sexuality
You may be correct that he is a hypocrit but that still doesn't justify making fun of him because he's gay (if he is). Anti-gay comments, even those directed specifically at gay conservatives contribute to the attitude that it is ok to make fun of gay people.

31. I don't suffer collaborators gladly....
And gay republicans are collaborators in their own oppression.

I will never shirk from calling them out for their hypocrisy and if that means I have to make them understand how their party really treats gays by publically outing them, I will.

No one, certainly NOT ME, was advocating "making fun" of gay people, okay?

while at the same time doing what he can to enable the bigoted, homophobic bush administration? It's totally relevant. Hypocrisy, thy name is BUSH.

Kerry Could Become First Gay President
By Jeff Gannon
Talon News
October 12, 2004

WASHINGTON (Talon News) -- Inasmuch as Bill Clinton is considered by some members of the African-American community to be "the first black president" because of their perception of his positions with regard to minority issues, Democratic Sen. John Kerry might someday be known as "the first gay president" were he to win the White House in November.

The Massachusetts liberal has enjoyed a 100% rating from the homosexual advocacy group, the Human Rights Campaign (HRC), since 1995 in recognition of his support for the pro-gay agenda.

Despite his stated opposition to gay marriage, Kerry and his running mate, Sen. John Edwards (D-NC), who also boasts a 100% rating from the HRC, can expect to receive a high percentage of the gay vote, estimated to be around 4 million. Kerry voted against the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA) in 1996 and both candidates oppose the constitutional amendment to protect marriage sought by President Bush.

Edited on Tue Feb-08-05 06:53 PM by Stop_the_War
I just need a bit of clarification. 99% of gays and lesbians are liberal. A very few are drawn to the dark side. You are trying to make it seem like we're all neo-cons or something.

10. Rough Statistics (from memory)
Edited on Tue Feb-08-05 06:58 PM by IanDB1
Between 15-30% of gay people voted for Bush.

85% of Jews are in favor of gay marriage. (That means there's 15% for whom the lesson of The Holocaust was somehow missed).

75% of Atheists and Agnostics are in favor of gay marriage.

75% of non-college-educated African-Americans are against gay marriage.

About 50% of college-educated African-Americans are in favor of gay marriage.

100% of Republicans are morans.

43. You miss the point
This is the story of a nobody, with no journalism degree or credentials, who suddenly acquires admission to the White House press corps. Not only that, he is CALLED UPON in press conferences, unlike 98% of the credentialed journalists there. And his questions are always phrased in a way that is very favorable to George W. Bush. It almost seems as if he has been PLANTED THERE to ask favorable questions. And yet, nobody knows who he is...

There's speculation that the "gaymilitary" stuff is set up to ENTRAP homosexuals in the military, thus making it not hypocrisy, but downright unAmerican.

12. no homophobia, only exposing hypocracy

At many bush news conferences, when tough questions are asked, the go-to guy is "Jeff Gannon," who frequently asks the great one questions about gay marriage, the gay agenda, etc.

Here are some domain names registered to the Bedrock Corporation. As World O'Crap informed us:

But this would make perfect sense, because when the folks at Kos did some digging into the background of Jeff's various sites, they found that they were all registered to "Bedrock Corp" of Wilmington, DE, and the address provided was a Mailbox, Inc location. However, poster dqueue did some further Googling and found another address for Bedrock Corp.of Wilmington -- this address was a single-family home, and it was associated with a "Jim Guckert" who was listed on a business directory page for court reporting and secretarial services in Wilmington.
