GoDaddy controversy staged by Fox to help Republican friend?
By now you’ve hear of the GoDaddy controversy that there super bowl ad has caused. If you haven't read about it here...

http://news.com.com/Go+Daddy+ad+cut+from+second+Bowl+airing/2100-1026_3-5568141.html

With no definitive proof to back my statements I'm suggesting that this controversy was created purposely by Fox to promote GoDaddy.

Looking at the current story it just doesn't make sense. Fox approved the Ad prior to the Super Bowl, airs it, and then decides to cut a second airing, which was not requested by the NFL. What? This simply isn't how things are done. But by doing so Fox has given GoDaddy X-times the amount of exposure that their not so-great-just-okay commercial would have given them. Why? Because it's about helping your Republican friends.

The CEO of GoDaddy is Bob Parsons a conservative who contributed to the re-election campaign of Dubya. Did he and a friend over at Fox cook this up? That makes more sense than the current story.

1. Interesting theory, and not that far-fetched--quite Rovian, in fact.

Hey! Maybe Rove is shopping his dirty tricks around, since he's done with his kingmaking duties, for the time being.

Edit: Just to add to your theory, you know that everyone was hoping for a scandal during this Superbowl. The opportunity was like a big, juicy piece of fruit, ripe for the plucking.

My cynicism knows no bounds when it comes to the devious ways Americans are duped/marketed with bread and citrcuses.

2. Yes, create a salacious ad that will get internet "buzz"
knowing full well that you're going to pull it. No complaints to the FCC, and GoDaddy doesn't have to pay for the air time.

3. Worked for the Swifties!
I hardly ever saw the Swift Boat ad run as an actual commercial. It never had to. It got so much free time on the news!
