If Bush has such a great plan for Social Security.....
Why does he keep falling over himself to assure the baby boomers that the system won't change for them?

Here's a quote:

MS. MORNIN: But I do want to see change and reform for my children because I realize that we will be in trouble down the road.

THE PRESIDENT: It's an interesting point, and I hear this a lot -- will the system be the same for me? And the answer is, absolutely. One of the things we have to continue to clarify to people who have retired or near retirement -- you fall in the near retirement.

And I've seen other quotes like this where he's constantly assuring Boomers that he won't touch their social security. I mean, if he has such a great idea, why not sell it the these people?

1. Bush's plan is to get rid of Social Security completely, wipe it...
...out of the country's social conscience. Why, that way business never has to concern itself with the welfare of its workers. They go back to considering labor as an exploitable resource, no social responsibility what so ever. I suppose because the ownership society thinks they will be able to do everything using robots and the inferior humans will just disappear somehow. It beats the hell outta me how the neo-conservative fundies think that is going top be accomplished. I suppose they think God will choose!

It like he's saying "don't worry - it's all those other people who are getting fkkkked."

4. I think because in the few years she has left b4 retiring, there isn't
enough time to grow the money through the stock market. Two years won't produce anything, unless she is really lucky.

5. This is the same lady that has to work 3 jobs to make ends meet.
There are a few more threads around here on her. I seriously doubt the poor lady will be able to retire anytime soon. You can see it in my work place. People are working into their 80's because even with social security they can't get by...
