The DU Jeff Gannon project.
Is anyone interested in going through the documentation to find "Jeff Gannon" questions and presence at WH news conferences and briefings? PM if you are, I'll collect names and get back to you with a project plan.

1. the folks at Daily Kos spent a lot of time doing this already
I wasted about an hour last night (when I should have been working) reading what they found and how they found it.

They actually combed every single one of Scott McClellen's briefings, looking for any time a softball was lobbed to see if it was from Gannon/McGuckert

2. Love your AVATAR Patiod
I got replicas of the VET and Connie Mack Stadium in my office and a picture of Mike Schmidt in my garage. Go Phillies!

6. I was just raised that way, Bosshog
My grandfather was a close friend of Connie Mack's, and when the A's won the pennant in 1930 (?) they had the celebration party at my Mom's house - my dad remembers sitting in her front yard with all the other little boys in town, hoping to get autographs from Jimmy Fox & company.

After the A's left town, my parents switched allegience to the Whiz Kids/Fighting Phils. We had awesome season tickets at the Vet from the time it opened (my dad did some work for Giles) and I cried when they demolished it. Spent a lot of happy nights there, including the night they won the pennant in '93. My husband and I have partial season tickets now at the new stadium (best seat we can afford - outfield nosebleeds).

My dad, who is a Depression boy, didn't think they had a chance back in '80, and when they offered season ticket holders the chance to reserve seats for the World Series, he didn't send in a check (like pocketing the money a friend asked you to bet on a horse). My mother has never let him forget it.

Where did you grow up, Bosshog?

7. My Grandfather
worked for Philco on Allegeheny and he was an usher at Connie Mack. We lived at 26th and Somerset, six blocks from Connie Mack. I'd get in free after the third inning. My Dad was in the Navy and we left Philly in 66 (I was in the sixth grade) but have remained a Phillie fan ever since. I think I still need counseling from the 64 season. I went to Saint Columba Catholic School on Lehigh. I've been to the VET several times (member of the 700 Club). I hated it too when they tore it down. I'm sure I'll make a trip to the new stadium soon. Enjoy the upcoming season.

3. It's hard to know how to take this
Obviously i'm disturbed, as many others might be, that this story has become just another example of Republican Hypocricy, letting us all forget about what exactly he was doing there (throwing softballs at Scott McClellen and Ari Fleischer).

On the other hand, what is the methodology of the project? Do they print the questioners names in press conferences? The one's the white house puts out don't. I suppose you could do a search on the name Gannon on each Press Gaggle (in case he gets called on by name).

5. Transcripts do not carry names....
Reporters, unless called out by name by McClellan (as "Gertz" or whatever), are always identifed by "Q" (question).

Re the first response, guess I'll offer my services to kos.
